How I got Here
A few months before celebrating our first wedding anniversary, my husband passed away unexpectedly. As I tried to navigate the pain of losing the love of my life, five months later, my father went to sleep one night and never woke up.
In a very short time, I lost the two most important men in my life. The weight of that grief was overwhelming. I began to numb my emotions and make unhealthy choices towards my healing. Like many people experiencing profound loss, I tried to keep moving forward, 'stay busy', and appear strong on the outside while silently struggling within.
Grief changed every part of my life. I experienced the loneliness, exhaustion, confusion, and emotional heaviness that often accompanies loss. I also came to understand how deeply grief can affect our relationships, identity, sense of purpose, and ability to feel connected to ourselves and others.
Over time, I realized that grief is not something we simply “move on” from. Healing begins when we allow ourselves the space to acknowledge our pain, process our emotions, and feel supported without judgment.
I reached out to many support groups and professionals to help me with the pain and anguish and then I found The Grief Recovery Method® . My experience was life-changing, grief-altering and brought me profound healing. That realization led me to become a Certified Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist and grief coach, and ultimately inspired the creation of Joyous Sorrow Grief Recovery.
Through my own healing journey, I developed a deep desire to help others move beyond the pain and isolation that grief and loss can bring.
To say “I know how you feel” would be unkind and untrue. Grief is deeply personal. Each loss is as individual as a fingerprint and as unique as the relationship you shared with your loved one.
Today, I offer compassionate grief support and coaching for individuals navigating loss, bereavement, life transitions, and emotional healing. My approach is gentle, supportive, and deeply personal because I understand firsthand how isolating grief can feel.
Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one, navigating divorce or separation, experiencing grief, or carrying another form of loss, you do not have to walk through it alone.
Based in Barrie, Ontario, I support clients locally and online across Canada, creating a safe space where healing, hope, and connection can begin again.
I have found Joy from surviving my darkest Sorrow.
